Festival expected to promote Hanoi’s tourism, handicraft products

The Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival will take place at Tran Nhan Tong pedestrian street and surrounding areas in Hai Ba Trung district from April 11-13, aiming to promote the city’s tourism and handicraft products.

The festival, held by the city’s Department of Tourism under the theme "Hanoi Tourism – A World Heritage Destination" is expected to stimulate tourism, promote destinations, products, and iconic souvenirs of Hanoi and Vietnam, while celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30). It is also part of the Visit Vietnam Year 2025.

The festival will highlight cultural and historical tours related to heritage sites, particularly those in the West Lake area and the Old Quarter.

The event also focuses on promoting traditional craft villages and their products, such as Bat Trang ceramics, Van Phuc silk, Phu Vinh rattan, Ha Thai lacquer, Ngu Xa bronze casting, and young rice of Vong village. These will be showcased as iconic souvenirs appreciated by both Vietnamese and foreign visitors.

Hanoi establishes itself as a major cultural and historical tourism centre in the country, with over 5,900 sites classified as historical, cultural ones, nearly 1,800 intangible cultural heritages, and 1,350 craft villages./.
