Spreading love together

April, along with the nation’s significant events, also marks the commencement of the “Humanitarian Journey – Spreading Love” campaign. This is the theme of this year’s Humanitarian Month, which takes place from March 1 to May 31, coinciding with major national holidays and events. One of the key objectives of this year's Humanitarian Month is to focus on widespread propaganda within local communities about humanitarian values, gradually changing public awareness of humanitarian work and promoting compassionate behavior among humans.

Promoting and spreading humanitarian values within communities is a meaningful effort aimed at transforming public awareness and embracing the core values of love and kindness, deeply rooted in the national spirit. Vietnamese proverbs such as “The good leaves protect the torn ones”, “A morsel in hunger is worth a feast in plenty” or “Gourds and pumpkins should love each other” are timeless values of love and compassion passed down by our ancestors. Along with the value of love, there is also the value of humanity, which is the solidarity and unity in overcoming difficulties and hardships. In modern terms, it is about "leaving no one behind”.

The journey of spreading love is not just about empty words and propaganda; it must be carried out through concrete actions. Love is not only spread through words, but also through collective efforts to help each other. Along with sincere words of love and kindness, there must be material support and assistance. Those who have little give little, and those who have more contribute more, so that the poor, orphaned children and elderly people can alleviate their difficulties. Collective efforts can achieve great things, changing the circumstance of a family through actions like building charity, gratitude and Red Cross houses. Love is spread when children in need are helped to go to school and when those who have served the country get better lives.

This year's Humanitarian Month, which is being held from March 1 to May 31, is purposefully chosen and holds significant meaning. This period encompasses many important national celebrations and historical events. The Humanitarian Month, held in conjunction with major national holidays, will gather and mobilize a large number of Youth Union members, associations and people from all strata to participate in. In fact, provincial Youth Unions and and associations at all levels have also initiated, received and spread love to many groups through such activities as giving gifts, awarding scholarships, organizing “zero-dong” markets, providing free medical examinations, eliminating substandard houses... All of these efforts are working together to carry out activities that spread love to those facing difficult circumstances in life.

Spreading love is a noble humanitarian journey with profound humanistic significance. Participating in and supporting the “Humanitarian Journey – Spreading Love” is a way to cultivate happiness—not only for others, but also for oneself. This is because love is not just about giving, but it is about receiving.
