Prioritizing the well-being of employees
Recently, Thu Dau Mot City has undertaken numerous initiatives to care for and support workers, particularly those facing challenging circumstances. These efforts have enhanced both their material and spiritual well-being, fostering a sense of security in their employment and encouraging long-term commitment to their organizations, businesses, and communities.

To establish a wellness-oriented playground
According to Trade Union of Thu Dau Mot City, the city currently boasts over 25,000 union members and workers, supported by nearly 320 grassroots unions.
To enhance the spiritual well-being of union members and workers, numerous cultural and sports events have recently been organized by unions at all levels in the region. These include football tournaments, volleyball competitions, and art contests. Such activities have garnered significant interest, engagement, and active participation from many union members and workers across various agencies, units, and enterprises in the area.
During Workers' Month and the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene this year, initiatives aimed at enhancing the spiritual well-being of union members and workers in Thu Dau Mot City have been actively promoted and commenced early. Since mid-April, the city has collaborated with the City's Center for Culture, Information, and Sports to host a mini football tournament for workers, civil servants, and laborers. Subsequently, the city partnered with the Department of Education and Training to organize a volleyball tournament for male and female workers, civil servants, and laborers in schools in 2025. These events serve as healthy and beneficial sporting venues, drawing significant participation from workers, civil servants, and laborers affiliated with grassroots unions in the region.
During the tournament, alongside engaging in competitions to enhance health and alleviate stress, dynamic venues such as this provide an opportunity for athletes who are civil servants, public employees, and city workers to connect, learn, and exhibit a spirit of solidarity and camaraderie in both their professional and personal lives. "When our spiritual well-being is nurtured, we cultivate an optimistic outlook, which in turn boosts productivity and efficiency in our work and production," stated Ms. Huynh Phi Nga, Chairman of Thu Dau Mot City.
Practical assistance for employees in distress
In addition to nurturing spiritual well-being, Thu Dau Mot City has recently placed significant emphasis on providing material assistance to union members and workers, particularly those experiencing hardships. Numerous practical initiatives have been implemented, including mobilizing financial resources to construct "Union Shelters" for members facing housing challenges; distributing gifts during holidays and Tet; offering support to workers in difficult situations and those suffering from severe illnesses; and providing train and bus tickets for workers in need to return home for Tet celebrations.
During this year's Workers' Month and the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene, numerous workers and laborers facing challenging circumstances and serious illnesses in the city have received tangible support. Among the 220 cases identified as experiencing particularly difficult situations, Ms. Le Thi Kim Anh from Hoa Mai Kindergarten (Phu My Ward) remarked that this assistance not only holds material value but also serves as a significant source of spiritual encouragement for her and her family. "Understanding my family's situation, the school's Trade Union consistently shows care, support, encouragement, and timely visits. Whenever there is assistance from the city or higher authorities, the school's Trade Union Executive Committee convenes to facilitate my access to support, alleviating some of our hardships. I am deeply moved by this concern and will strive to overcome these challenges while working and caring for my child's treatment to ensure better health," Ms. Kim Anh stated.
In conjunction with the activities conducted during Workers' Month and the Month of Action on occupational safety and hygiene this year, the city also organized and coordinated several programs, including a communication campaign linked to significant national holidays.
organize the program "Dialogue in May" and the forum "Party with Workers - Workers with the Party" to gather the thoughts and aspirations of workers and laborers; implement the Law on Labor Safety and Hygiene, as well as the Law on Social Insurance for grassroots trade union officials; coordinate and guide units, enterprises, and localities in organizing cultural, artistic, and sports activities to benefit workers and laborers, in conjunction with launching and responding to Workers' Month and the Month of Action on Labor Safety and Hygiene in 2025... The city instructs each affiliated grassroots trade union, based on its specific conditions, to organize at least one movement activity or project aimed at enhancing the material and spiritual well-being of workers and laborers.
Ms. Huynh Phi Nga, President of the Thu Dau Mot City Labor Federation, stated that the activities conducted during Workers' Month enhance societal awareness and responsibility regarding the care and protection of the legitimate rights and interests of workers, as well as the improvement of their living and working conditions. This also presents an opportunity to recognize and advance the role of workers in the country's new developmental phase. It is essential to highlight the pioneering contributions of union members and workers in innovation initiatives, enhance qualifications and skills, boost labor productivity and work efficiency, develop agencies, units, and enterprises, and contribute to securing employment while improving the income and quality of life for union members and workers, thereby fostering the economic growth of the city. |
