Investment cooperation between Binh Duong and Cuba promoted

Early April 10, Bui Minh Thanh, Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee, chaired a meeting to promote trade and investment between Cuba and local businesses at provincial Administration Center. The Cuban delegation was led by Ariadne Feo Labrada, Consul General of Cuba in Ho Chi Minh city, along with Abel Alejandro Rivero Ochoa, Director of the Mariel Special Development Zone (ZED Mariel).

During the meeting, on behalf of provincial leaders, Mr. Thanh warmly welcomed the Cuban delegation and shared key achievements in Binh Duong’s socio-economic development as well as the province’s orientation in fostering investment across sectors such as innovation, science and technology, education and healthcare.

Ms. Ariadne Feo Labrada emphasized that ZED Mariel is a pivotal Cuban project aimed at attracting foreign investment and stimulating economic development. ZED Mariel focuses on industries such as manufacturing, food processing, information technology, electronics, pharmaceuticals and renewable energy. These sectors are expected to greatly contribute to Cuba's economic development in the future.

Mr. Thanh believed that through the meeting and learning between the two sides and with the fields that are ZED Mariel's strengths, in the coming time, the two sides will continue maintaining connections, promote cooperation and development between businesses, especially in the fields of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and healthcare... which are ZED Mariel's strengths and are also the fields that Binh Duong province is very interested in, calling for cooperation and investment...
